Mile for the Camera!
For the longest time I have been combining my interest in video production with my love of running. Today I am excited to share my latest experiment in this world.
Introducing: Mile for the Camera
As an avid podcast listener, I have always wanted to create my own space to interview people about topics or experiences that intrigue me. I also knew I wanted to do this while running. Until now I hadn’t figured out exactly how the production logistics would work.
Well, I figured it out.
And I’m excited to share this first episode. I interviewed John Howard, race director of the upcoming Laces & Brews 5k in Fishers, Indiana. John is a super upbeat and positive guy and really helped save this shoot from total disaster. Learn more about him and his event by checking out the video!
Watching back I already have lots of notes for myself on how to improve. Namely - be a better, more present interviewer. I have interviewed hundreds (if not thousands) of people in my 12 years producing videos. The major differences here are: (1) I am on camera as well, (2) I cannot look at any notes, and (3) it’s all recorded and played back in real time - no opportunity to shuffle around topics or cut anything out.
For now I will focus on Episode 2. It’s all about learned on each piece and making relentless forward progress. I won’t be sharing every episode here (you can find them on my Running Blog). But I will check back with updates on the behinds the scene of developing a ‘show’ like this.
Wish me luck,
Chris
